Rainbow Landscape Irrigation & Maintenance (landscape contractor) did this backyard outdoors hardscape & landscaping project in the city of Petaluma, Sonoma County, California. The backyard construction involved: custom designed BBQ set up, custom made fireplace, laying natural grass, building redwood pergola & stone patio.
The first step was grading the backyard surface. Then a french drainage system was installed in the backyard. The lay out of the stone patio was set up. Then the outdoor custom BBQ set up was built using solid concrete for both the foundation and the walls. A second wall with a counter top was build in front of the barbecue grill for people to eat out. Both countertops have Natural Indian stone finish, and the walls have a stucco finish. This custom designed BBQ set up includes: natural gas line, sink, stainless steel grill, utility drawers & wine cooler. Over the BBQ set up, a custom redwood pergola was built to provide shade & enhance aesthetically the entire backyard
The fireplace was built using solid concrete, including the sitting benches on both sides with Natural Indian finish on top of the benches, and stucco finish for the entire fireplace. The stone patio was built with solid concrete reinforced with 1/2" rebar, with a diamond shaped finish. Different colors and textures were applied to the final surface to give a beautiful and original look. Finally, a sealer was applied to protect the surface against weather and foot traffic. We completed the backyard project with new sod and irrigation system to water the new laid grass.
