Rainbow Landscape Irrigation & Maintenance (landscape contractor) did this landscaping and hardscaping project in Mill Valley, Marin County, California. This landscape project included building two playground areas with artificial grass surface, flagstones for step stones walkway, garden lights, mulching, planting, pruning trees, stone retaining walls, stone stairs & wood retaining wall.
We started this landscape project by doing a full garden cleaning up of all the landscape areas in this property. For the two areas where we built the playgrounds, we needed to do a lot of digging, grading and removing dirt in order to create the flat surfaces required, since these areas were sloppy and downhill. After grading the playground areas, we built the stone retaining walls. Upon completing the construction of the retaining walls, we did the final grading for the artificial grass installations.
After finishing with artificial grass playgrounds, we installed boxwoods around the turf. Bluestone step stones were placed to create a pathway in the front yard and backyard to provide a better access to the playground area built in the side yard with some wood walls to hold any pressure of dirt from the hills. A deer fence along the backside of the property was built and installed using chain link material. As usual in these landscape projects, to finish this project off we proceeded to planting new plants and installing a drip system to cut down water cost & reduce water waste. Finally, mulching the exposed topsoil areas.
