Rainbow Landscape Irrigation & Maintenance (landscape contractor) did this landscape & hardscape project in a property in Corte Madera, Marin County, California. The homeowner is a real estate agent based in the Bay Area, California. Before the homeowner decided to do major work to improve the landscape at his backyard, this homeowner has been already a client of us for many years with garden maintenance services. When the client decided to start moving forward with landscape projects to improve the look of the landscape, he selected Rainbow Landscape contractor to provide the following services: artificial grass installation, drainage work, fertilizing, mulching, planting & stone walls construction.
The major improvement started in the backyard where the homeowner wanted to lay out a play area for the children. This area was a downhill surface covered with dirt only. We did a lot of dirt removing in order to do the proper grading of the surface. Then we started building a stone retaining wall to be able to set up the play area. A second retaining wall was built with stones along with a staircase leading to the back entrance. Some garden boxes were built behind the further retaining wall. A big redwood playhouse with doors, windows and lighting was built for the children to play inside protected from weather conditions. Drainage was installed in the surface and the artificial synthetic grass was laid out to finish off the play area. This area was 375 sqft of artificial turf lawn, which was installed by Better Than Real Artificial Grass, our sister company (www.BetterThanRealGrass.com). The last things done to enhance the new hardscape were to plant new plants inside the stone garden beds, installing a drip system, fertilizing and mulching the exposed topsoil areas.
